Ottawa Police Release Pictures of Robbery Suspects

OTTAWA — Police are asking for the public's assistance to identify two women who assaulted and robbed an Ottawa taxi driver of his day's fares last Wednesday on the city's west side.


At around 1:26 a.m. on July 15, a Blue Line taxi driver picked up the two women in the Market area and drove them to Baseline Road and Woodroffe Avenue, according to police. When they arrived, police say a struggle ensued inside the car, during which the driver was assaulted and robbed of his day's fares.


The women then fled the area and were last seen heading eastbound on Baseline Road.


No weapons were used and no injuries were sustained in the assault.


The frontseat passenger is described as white, 19 or 20 years old, with blonde hair and a mole on the left side of her upper lip.


The backseat passenger is described as white, 19 or 20 years old, with long brown hair.
